Story Highlights
- The main story of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will reportedly take 3-4 days to complete.
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will feature a good amount of side content.
- As reported, the game will not be available for Game Pass, however.
In a recent interview with Automaton, Masayoshi Yokoyama, the director of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, has finally confirmed the entry’s main story length. According to him, the title’s main story will take three to four days to complete, even without sleep or detours when asked what players should do to prepare for the upcoming release.
If you wanted to clear only the main story of Infinite Wealth, it would take about 3-4 days without sleep. That means no sleep, no detours, and almost no side stories, so please enjoy the game bit by bit, without losing any sleep,” said Yokoyama.
Masayoshi also gave further details on what players can expect from the entry in terms of content. The main story will consist of two major protagonists, namely Kiryu Kazuma and Ichiban Kasuga. Since fans such as myself enjoy the side content that the Like a Dragon series has to offer, Masayoshi confirmed that players can expect a lot of side stories for both protagonists and a few other characters.

Furthermore, Yokoyama mentioned “Dodoko Island” and “Bucket List, “both containing a good amount of side content. The Director explained that the content in these two “is substantial enough to be independent games.” However, if you want to stick to the main story, you can choose to skip all side quests. Previously, it was also revealed that the Map size of the entry is 3 times bigger than Yakuza 7.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is definitely one of the most major releases by the franchise. Even the main story is much longer compared to other Yakuza games that barely had 24 to 30 hours of story gameplay. However, players could easily spend 50+ hours completing all of the side content in Yakuza entries. Considering the history of other titles, you can expect much more side-content in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Since Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is such a significant release for RGG studio, unfortunately, it won’t be available for Xbox Game Pass. Apparently, SEGA made the previous entry Like a Dragon Gaiden available for Game Pass to gain a larger international audience for its next release. The entry will be released worldwide on January 26, 2024.
