Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero might drop local versus modes according to the game’s store page on Steam and PlayStation. Furthermore, according to PSN, Sparking Zero may include microtransactions. User @ShonenGameZ on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared some images showing the absence of tags such as “local multiplayer” or “local PVP“ which implies several things. At face value, however, this seems to hint at the title saying goodbye to couch battles.

The inclusion of microtransactions in the game will be a huge blow as the system itself draws the ire of gamers around the globe. Yet it continues to be profitable for the companies due to various factors. Another element is the way microtransactions are implemented in a game. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is the next saga in the legendary Budokai Tenkaichi series, a franchise known for massive rosters and equipable items.
It’s not out of the realm of possibility that those items will be handled in a way that the base game will only reward you with generic equipable gear and to get the premium selections, you’ll have to either invest tons of hours in the game or buy it off the store. There’s a chance yes, but it’s all speculation at this point. The PSN tag could also be some kind of error or placeholder so it’s best to stay vigilant and await official confirmation.

Sparking Zero has generated ripples in the community due to its breathtaking visuals, earth-shattering combat, and the claim to feature a historic number of playable characters. At the moment there is little to no information on the game aside from its announcement trailer.
These images may have mentioned microtransactions and excluded local versus but considering the game’s developmental timeframe, we advise you to exercise patience and look out for official information. Considering how Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections featured local versus, it seems unusual for Sparking Zero to drop it.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No release window has been given at the moment.
