Minecraft Bedrock Introduces Official Add-Ons To Marketplace

Add-ons are no longer locked to worlds made for them.

Story Highlights

  • A new update is improving how mods work for Minecraft Bedrock. Mojang has introduced add-ons to the marketplace.
  • These add-ons can now easily be added to new and existing worlds instead of being tied to a single world.
  • There are plenty of free and paid add-ons that will let you customize just about anything in your world.

Minecraft Bedrock has had access to mods, but it was in quite a limited manner. A new update by Mojang now brings add-ons to the marketplace, meaning they can be added to existing and new bedrock worlds. The update intends to make your worlds more customizable than ever before, with a plethora of blocks, items, mobs, recipes, and other goodies that will be added upon downloading instead of replacing the existing items.

The update massively improves modding in the Bedrock edition because add-ons were previously only tied to pre-made worlds for them, making it quite detrimental for gamers wanting a customizable experience. Add-ons will unlock new designs, adventures, and game mechanics that were previously impossible in the Bedrock version of Minecraft. Another massive feature is the ability for multiple add-ons to work together in the game.

Whether it’s more cuteness, convenience, creepiness, or chaos you’re looking for, you can now add it to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition no matter which device you play on,” reads the official site.

Fancy-looking add-ons are already available on the site that adds new wool types, animals, furniture, portals, and more.

It is relatively easy to grab the new add-on collections without knowing the inner workings of Minecraft Bedrock. You just need to download the content from the official marketplace, like how it is usually done in the title. However, you can head to the official FAQ to find answers to every commonly asked question.
