Nacon Unveils New Action-Adventure Game “Hell Is Us”

Nacon is collaborating with Rogue Factor on this ambitious new open-world action-adventure game.

Nacon is a French video game publisher that you may be familiar with due to some sports titles. Largely known for publishing Cricket 22 and the Rugby series, the company is a major player in the AA game industry. With many studios under its belt, Nacon has been growing since its inception and has some promising new games launching soon, one of which has just been revealed by the company and it looks promising. Earlier today, the company unveiled its upcoming action-adventure game developed by Rogue Factor, Hell is Us, in a recent press release. Furthermore, a trailer for the game has also been released besides this press release on the game’s official Twitter account. It shows us an early look at the game, which looks absolutely stunning.

Hell is Us is a collaboration between Nacon and the development studio, Rogue Factor. Nacon acquired the developer recently and this is the first project from Rogue Factor under the new management. Jonathan Jacques-Belletête is directing this very exciting project and considering his portfolio, it’s an outstanding hire. The director has worked on the Deus Ex games and more recently, the hit Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy from Square Enix. So, the project is even more thrilling with him on board.

According to the press release, Hell is Us is an action-adventure game that the players will experience from a third-person perspective. The main character is someone searching for answers in a country torn by Civil War. However, there is a twist in this tale; the recent emergence of supernatural creatures who resemble ancient headstones in the region. Locals call this “The Calamity” and the player must fight through it with special weapons.

Jonathan Jacques-Belletête has said that the game is the innovation of a new genre. Players have to explore the environment and find information all by themselves. Hence, they will have to do a lot of work by themselves in Hell is Us, according to Nacon. “There’s no need for a detailed quest log or precise waypoint on the map: we want players to feel the thrill of adventure, guided by their feelings and instincts,” says the Director.

Therefore, the basis of Hell is Us is an exploration and relying on one’s self. Something like this is very new and gripping for the players. Everyone wants to try out a new concept like this and to be fair, our interest is piqued, too. Nacon has also given a launch year for the game in the press release, which is scheduled for 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
