Pokémon Scarlet And Violet’s Mod Removes Ed Sheeran’s Song From The Credits

The game's first official mod is completely removes the singer from it.

It’s very rare to see intellectual properties be culturally significant in all forms of media. Even when adaptations of books and video games become popular, they are only mainstream to a limited audience. However, one franchise breaks all of these laws and rules the world in every possible type of merchandise: Pokémon.

Even though the franchise started from video games, a lot of people know it from movies, TV shows, and books. Pokémon is still a major force in the gaming world even after this expansion and rules sales charts with every release. Its most recent release, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, has upheld this trend by becoming the most pre-ordered game in the franchise.

But, even the biggest IP on planet Earth runs into trouble sometimes. The launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been very frustrating for the fans due to a wide array of technical issues among other things. Now, fans have managed to remove one thing they deemed annoying through a mod.

Major Takeaways:

  • A fan mod called “Remove Sheeran” deletes Ed Sheeran’s promotional song from the game’s credits.
  • Japanese singer Wada Koji’s music replaces his song.
  • It only works on Pokémon violet as of now but will probably be compatible with Scarlet too.

A fan mod for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has removed the Ed Sheeran song from the game credits. Modder CrescentCrossbow is responsible for creating this mod for the game. And the mod has already become a fan-favorite among the community.

If you aren’t aware, Ed Sheeran made an exclusive song for the promotion of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This song titled “Celestial” is featured in the credits of the game and you have to listen to it. Even though he is commercially successful, not many people are huge fans of Sheeran.

As a result, the “Remove Sheeran” mod has been created for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and it’s the first official mod for the game. It seems like the creator doesn’t like Sheeran’s music as the mod completely removes him from the game. However, the credits are not without any music when you use this mod.

Music from the Japanese singer Wada Koji replaces Sheeran’s “Celestial” from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s credits. The late Wada Koji was a pop singer who made music for the Digimon anime. He made the theme song “Butter-fly” for the Digimon Adventure anime.

As of now, the mod only works on Pokémon Violet according to CrescentCrossbow as he only tested it there. It isn’t certain it will work on Scarlet but we hope it will be compatible. Some might think Sheeran’s removal from the game is harsh, but that is just fan culture for you.
