Remnant 2 has proven to be one of the most pleasant surprises in gaming this year, coming across as a much-improved sequel to the 2019-released Remnant: From the Ashes. In case you’ve been missing out on the third-person shooter, the devs have made it official in recent times that the action RPG is getting a 20% discount on all the platforms it’s available on, namely PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam.
On PlayStation and Xbox, the game is available for $39.99 right now, exclusive of taxes, as opposed to its $49.99 MSRP. Steam’s side is relatively cheaper though, and applying the 20% discount reduces the pricing of Remnant 2 to $27.99 as compared to the original $34.99 price tag. It’s worth noting that you’ve got until October 12, 11:59 AM GMT+5 to get your hands on this deal—it’s going to be a no-show afterward.

Tracing its release back to July this year, Remnant 2 has lived up to expectations and then some with how Gunfire Games — the developer — has tuned the title to near pefection. In our Remnant 2 review, eXputer gave the game a 4/5, citing satisfying gameplay, great RPG mechanics, and unique art direction for its success, while also casting a lens on the hum-drum narrative of the action RPG.
In other news, we held an interview last month with the Principal Environment Artist on Remnant 2, Shaun Brahmsteadt II, where gave us interesing insights into various aspects of the project Gunfire Games has ever so passionately worked on. When asked about the shooter’s proclivity toward being a Soulslike, and what influenced the decision to make the game that way, Shaun answered,
There were a few review meetings I sat in, looking at a boss fight, and in general, if you could beat it the first time, it was too easy. Designers were often challenged to complete no-hit runs on bosses. Usually, the ones that got close but couldn’t completely do it were the most successful. I do think the rise in souls-like games and players’ general good reception of them makes it much less hard to argue against making souls-like games. But we did, of course, want to put our own spin on that, and I think we did.”
Gunfire Games is all in on Remnant 2 as far as its post-launch support is concerned. The last time the third-person shooter recieved an update, it got major quality of life improvements, performance and stablity improvements, and other neat additions, such as a low-quality graphics preset option, Toggle Aim, Toggle Sprint, and a lot more. The devs also said that they plan on bringing another QoL update soon.
We’re planning on also going out with another major QoL update that will be loads of fun for all players. Stay tuned for more updates. We want to continue to hear from you on what you’d like to see in Remnant 2, so please continue to share your feedback with us in our official Discord or via our social media channels.”
Remnant 2 was released on July 25, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while effectively skipping last-gen consoles.
