Slipgate Ironworks Acquires Core Decay Developer ALL CAPS

Slipgate Ironworks is a part of Embracer Group's Saber Interactive.

Slipgate Ironworks is a game development studio behind popular titles like Ghostrunner and other notable works. The alluring team of developers has crafted both Indie and AAA games in the past and is currently working on a plethora of titles. The studio is also credited for birthing the first modern retro shooter dubbed Rise of the Triad.

The studio has seemingly been looking to expand its arsenal, and it has acquired a notable studio to help develop an anticipated title. Slipgate Ironworks has reportedly obtained the Danish studio, ALL CAPS. It is a small team of Indie developers behind 3D Realms’ ongoing project, Core Decay.

Slipgate Ironworks CEO Frederik Schreiber revealed the glad tidings on LinkedIn and quoted that the complete ALL CAPS team is now engaged under his conglomerate.

Major Rundown

  • Slipgate Ironworks is a part of Embracer Group’s Saber Interactive and the developers behind notable games like Ion Fury and Rad Rogers. ALL CAPS is a small yet talented bunch of Danish Indie developers banded together to create lasting experiences.
  • Slipgate has recently acquired the indie developers at ALL CAPS crafting 3D Realms’ Core Decay.
  • The team behind Ghostrunner was seemingly really pleased with the performance of the Indie game studio, and the company’s CEO came forward on LinkedIn to announce the acquisition.
  • The deal will see the whole ALL CAPS team employed under the studio to ensure that Core Decay can be developed more smoothly.

The acquisition transpired after the CEO of Slipgate Ironworks was impressed by the performance of ALL CAPS. Earlier this year, both studios collaborated on the 3D Realms game, Core Decay. After the successful collaboration, the studio has taken over a hundred percent of the staff at the small Indie studio.

The CEO of Slipgate Ironworks, Frederik Schreiber, commented on the successful deal and showed great enthusiasm to work with the team at ALL CAPS.

Earlier this year, the opportunity arose and we have been happy to have ALL CAPS in the house. We therefore chose to give them an offer to become a regular part of Slipgate. I am proud, happy and humbled that Brian and the rest of the ALL CAPS team accepted, and look forward to welcoming them all in the new year!” wrote Slipgate Ironworks’ CEO.

ALL CAPS was also incredibly pleased with Slipgate Ironworks acquiring the whole team. The ALL CAPS director, Brian Martin Nielsen, envisions a great future under the talented Slipgate company. The director had a few comments to add of his own.

We’re super excited about this new chapter! ALL CAPS was started almost 10 years ago and we have always had a great desire to try our hand at the PC and console market, so when we got the opportunity to collaborate with Frederik and 3D Realms earlier this year, we immediately jumped at the chance and we have been extremely happy with the collaboration and the way we were received.

Becoming a part of Slipgate and 3D Realms feels natural and super good. To put it mildly, we are excited about the new year and what the future holds together,” noted the ALL CAPS director.

The merging of both talented studios will see a great boost in the development of the upcoming Core Decay, and we can envision the title crossing our expectations.

If you are unfamiliar, Core Decay is an old-school FPS shooter that adopts the elements of Sci-Fi to create a fantastic Immersive Simulator. The single-player shooter does not have a release date yet, but we reckon the acquisition will speed things up soon.
