Activision‘s Call of Duty games have been released on Battle.net for five years. However, things seem to be shifting, as the official Steam account on Twitter has tipped players about the upcoming Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game getting released on Steam this time.

The official account for Call Of Duty tweeted the worldwide reveal date for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While replying to the tweet, the official Steam account tweeted the eyes emoji, which could possibly hint at the game getting its official release on Steam this time around.
The game was previously speculated to get a release on Steam, as an image of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from the storefront supposedly got leaked. However, that picture got taken down from the website soon. Now, it seems that it was not an accident, as hinted by the tweet from Steam.
The last Call Of Duty game on Steam, Call of Duty: WWII, was released all the way back in 2017, which was five years ago. After that, all Call Of Duty titles, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty: Vanguard, did not get a release on Steam.
These titles have been getting released on Battle.net, but now it seems like things are starting to shift. Still, it’s not confirmed or official news that we will get a Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release on Steam, and that’s why players should take the information with a grain of salt.
Last week, we received the official release date for Call Of Duy: Modern Warfare 2. Recently, we just got the hint from Steam that it might be coming back to the storefront. More news will apparently keep coming out and, eventually, we might just get a confirmation.
