Story Highlights
- Astro Bot is one of the most prolific releases of the year, launching to fantastic critical claim.
- According to a new report, Astro Bot has rolled over enough titles to land on the best-sellers list.
- The game is a stellar hit, and not without good reason.
Astro’s Playroom was no one-hit wonder back when it came loaded up on the PlayStation 5, presenting itself as a “tech demo,” but going on to achieve a lot more than that. The game’s fantastic reception was able to pave the way to Astro Bot, which has turned out to be yet another technical marvel, with sales figures exceeding expectations as well.
According to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, who took to Bluesky to publish the company’s findings, Astro Bot was the second best-seller in the United States in the month of September, trailing just behind EA’s mega-hit football simulator FC 25.
This is delightful news, not just for consumers but for Sony executives who get to decide what franchise gets a future. Following its launch in September, Astro Bot has also welcomed free post-release DLC and more content that was pushed out for the platformer this month.
What’s more, each of these new levels contains two brand-new Special Bots for you to rescue. That’s 10 new beloved characters to add to your crew. We gave a sneak peek of Eve from Stellar Blade and the Helldivers. However, as for who is next, well that’s for you to find out. So, get busy rescuing,” confirmed studio director Nicolas Doucet.
Can We Expect An Astro Bot Sequel Down The Line?
I mean, it’s silly not to. The game’s a smash-hit success that’s likely to get further green lights from the publisher, and one particular in-game achievement might even be teasing a sequel already, though don’t hold your breath just yet.
