The Last Of Us Remake Could Release This Year, Suggests Industry Insider

The much-anticipated remake could be out holiday season, suggests Jeff Grubb.

The Last Of Us Part II was a hit despite it dividing players into different spectrums. Both installments in the series have been a stellar success in story-oriented apocalyptic games. The Last Of Us received a remastered version at the advent of the last generation; now it’s getting a PlayStation 5 remake.

The iconic remake is being built down to its skeletal structure with Sony‘s latest innovative hardware. Players have been eagerly awaiting tidbits about the stellar remake, but Sony has kept things under wraps this time around. Jeff Grub, an accredited industry insider, recently stated on an episode of Kinda Funny Gamescast that The Last Of Us Remake is releasing this year.

The game has been in development for nearly half a decade. At first, this project was to be bundled with The Last Of Us Part II, but it took longer than expected. However, Jeff Grubb and more sources have suggested that the project is pretty much complete and will be released during the latter half of 2022, during the holiday season.

Moreover, another well-renowned industry insider passed remarks about the game’s current state a couple of months ago. Tom Henderson tweeted about the development situation concerning The Last Of Us Remake, stating that the game is nearly brewed.

Furthermore, he mentioned that it would release in the latter half of 2022, which is further backed up by Jeff Grubb’s recent statement. It makes sense to release the remake during the holiday season since more people have free time on their hands to slouch down and immerse themselves in games.

The Last Of Us Remake is also rumored to incorporate the highly-anticipated Faction mode. The mode was a success with the original game but, according to most players, was overshadowed by the stellar story. Regardless, players have been looking forward to it, and it might just release with the remake.
