Priced at $299.99 and $199.99, respectively, the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite have topped the charts and become best-sellers in November 2020. As a matter of fact, they’ve been doing that for the past 24 months consecutively, and the recent numbers suggest no signs of Nintendo slowing down.
This is all according to NPD Group – a market research company that analyses sales and tracks the big figures. Including the sales on popular holidays this year, Nintendo Switch sold over 1.3 million units in November alone. In total, more than 6.92 million units have been in the US sold this year. Take a look at the report below.
One of the reasons why Nintendo Switch sales surged past month is because of the newly-launched Fortnite Bundle. This was right alongside the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle that caught the attention of many gamers.
What’s more, is that Nintendo managed to sell more of its consoles in the 11 months of 2020 than it was able to in the whole of 2019. While the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X also debuted last month, the Nintendo Switch still sprinted out ahead.
Nintendo says that it has sold over 63 million consoles to date. It may not be the best all-time selling console. Still, it has undoubtedly packed a punch for the last couple of years.“We continue to see unprecedented demand for Nintendo Switch, and we are pleased that people of all ages and gaming skill levels will be experiencing Nintendo Switch this holiday and beyond,” says Nick Chavez – the Senior Vice President of Nintendo’s Sales and Marketing.
