The Sims 4 Inclusivity Update Adds Hearing Aids and Body Scars

The Sims 4 has received a brand-new update adding a whole host of new cosmetics and accessories to give your Sims more options than ever before. 

The new update is featured around inclusivity by giving players the option to customize their Sims more personally. The major additions include Medical Wearables such as Hearing Aids and Glucose Monitors. The second major addition involves body scars.

Players can find a Body Scars category with an option for teen and older male Sims (masculine or feminine frame) to add a Top Surgery Scar to their Sims.

A miscellaneous addition includes the “Unswitchable Switch,” the item’s description reads: 

I recall the first time I tried to switch the Unswitchable Switch…three hours in a pitch-black room, the screaming just kept getting louder and louder, and it wasn’t until dawn when light seeped in through the window that I was finally able to stop myself.”

Furthermore, the update adds a whole bunch of new Quality-of-Life improvements to the console version of the game. Such as a customizable UI that lets players change the position of various UI elements as well as adjustments made to the Build mode and UI navigation.  

The update also makes a ton of across-the-board bug fixes from the base game to many of the DLC. 

The Sims 4 recently went free-to-play across all platforms in October last year. The Free-to-play version solely includes the base game without any of its DLC…which is admittedly where most of the content of the game can be found.

A fifth “The Sims” game is also currently in development under the codename “Project Rene.” While we have no release date, images of a playtesting build of the game were leaked online last year.

However, a lot of information regarding the game surfaced last year after the “Behind the Sims” Summit in October 2022. It was confirmed that The Sims 5 would make online play optional and that it would strongly rely on player feedback for improvements. 

Until then, The Sims 4 continues to get frequent support via updates and DLC.
