Call of Duty: Vanguard is the upcoming instalment to one of the most famous FPS franchises in the world, Call of Duty. After many rumours about a new sequel to the franchise, Call of Duty: Vanguard was finally announced by Sledgehammer Games and Activision on 19th August 2021. Since then, there have been many leaks as to what players can expect from the game when it releases.
Earlier today, gameplay footage from the early-access (Beta) version of the game was leaked online and it showcases some intriguing things about the upcoming instalment. Recently, CODHOPE posted a video from the early-access version of Call of Duty: Vanguard on Vimeo, which showcases the different multiplayer modes of the game.
[SPOILER ALERT!]
The video also shows the different maps, such as Hotel Royal and Gavutu. These maps take players through certain environments, such as foresty and snowy ones, to keep the experience fresh. Furthermore, Killstreaks are also back in the game now and there seem to be announcements for when players get consecutive kills — as is common in many FPS games.
Personally, Call of Duty: Vanguard does not feel any different from its predecessors. It has been years since we’ve received a new Call of Duty instalment that isn’t a remastered version of a previously well-known sequel, so we did expect something new from Activision. However, that does not seem to be the case with this one!
From the response we’ve seen from players so far, it seems like many others are unsatisfied with the upcoming sequel, too! “reskinned Modern Warfare,” said one comment on Reddit. “Bf2042 is better,” said another. Right now, both Activision and EA are going head-to-head in competition with Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042 respectively, and it seems like EA has taken the lead here. Call of Duty: Vanguard is expected to release on 5th November 2021.
