Story Highlights
- Lies of P, the ambitious new Soulslike from Chinese publisher Neowiz Games, has appealed to the majority thanks to its smooth gameplay and remarkable visuals.
- The way things are concluded in one of the endings of Lies of P, the setup for the sequel has already been put in place.
- But as per a new job listing, it appears that before we can expect a new Lies of P game, DLC for the Soulslike will come out, and that’s welcome all the same.
Lies of P is one of the latest games to grace the hellish Soulslike genre, having come out on September 19 for a myriad of platforms. Similar to the category of games it belongs to, one of the endings of Lies of P set the title up for a sequel, but as per a new Content Planner job listing on Neowiz Games’ official website, it appears that devs have planned DLC content for their action RPG first (thanks Okami Games).
The listing of the job vacancy appears to be in Korean but upon translation, it’s easily discernible that plans for Lies of P’s DLC are certainly underway. In fact, Neowiz has created three listings at the moment that mention DLC work for the game, namely the aforementioned DLC Content Planner, DLC Scenario/Setting Planner, and DLC Quest Planner, indicating that a new Lies of P project is currently being worked on.
The scenario at hand is certainly exciting news, especially for folks like me who have poured hours into Lies of P, only to bask in the glow of its glory. A little speculation on what can fans expect from the DLC, though, a certain someone has been shown after the closing credits of Lies of P. Do be warned, it’s spoiler territory that you’re approaching from here on out if you haven’t beat the game yet.
It’s Dorothy from the popular Oz novels, mainly The Wizard of Oz, that have been mentioned and seen in Lies of P—quite the surprise, no? The tease first originates in the post-credits scene when Paracelsus speaks to a woman over the phone, reassuring her, “Ah, and when I return, I will find her. For sure. Another key of ours, Dorothy.”
The camera, after a brief pause, then cuts to the bottom half of what appears to be a female taking a stroll on an elevated ledge, overseeing Krat in ruins. She is visualized wearing red shoes — similar to her portrayal in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz — and clicking her heels thrice, seemingly confirming that she’s who we all think she is.
Either this mystery of Dorothy translates to a full-fledged sequel or in the form of DLC, that’s what we’ve yet to see. That said, if Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio are planning to bring back all of our favorite childhood characters in this gruesome manner, sign me up, man! The devs did a number on Pinnochio with Lies of P, and it’s pretty much clear that they sure can handle the Soulslike genre even if the central character is loosely based on a character from a children’s newspaper.

In case you missed it, Asmongold, the popular Twitch slash YouTube streamer recently called out Lies of P for its “badly designed” bosses, otherwise praising the title as a whole. The internet personality called it “one of the best Souslike games ever made,” and admired it for its visuals, save for the big-level foes featured in the action RPG.
Lies of P was released on September 19 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
