Lies Of P Devs Have Been Offered Several Multimedia Adaptations

"There sure are stories we could not introduce in the game."

Story Highlights

  • Lies of P is a promising new Soulslike in 2023, offering fresh gameplay, stunning art, and visuals.
  • The devs have revealed in a new interview that they’ve received offers to expand Lies of P.
  • That would take place in the form of other media iterations, such as movies, TV, and books.

Lies of P has made a solid impression over the course of its release, belonging to the hellish Soulslike category of video games. It stars an alternate version of Pinnochio, one of the most iconic fictional characters found in children’s novels, so there’s an apparent opportunity here for the game to be turned into something else as well. Corroborating this, developer studio appeared in an interview as of late.

When asked by Game Rant whether the studio plans on expanding Lies of P in the form of other media adaptations, Jiwon Choi, the Game Director at Round8 Studio, replied positively, expressing how they aren’t quite done yet with the stories left to be told in Lies of P. Of course, most of this will translate to either the DLC or the sequel that’s already been green-lit in recent times.

There sure are stories we could not introduce in the game, and I think it makes players wonder if Round8 Studio is willing to unfold those stories in different forms of media. We have received offers from various parties about it already,” said Lies of P’s Game Director.

Of course, it’s too early for any definitive comment to be made here, because options are still being “explored” on this front. That said, given the premise of the title and how it offers such a unique take on an otherwise harmless character in history, the possibilities are numerous for Lies of P to go large-scale. Besides, television and game adaptations are a thing now in 2023—just ask The Last of Us, it’s being called the best video game adaptation ever.

It is too early to share any detailed plan for it now. However, I believe we can say that the Studio is exploring options to continue the story of Lies of P in a positive way.”
