Players Delighted After New Lies Of P Patch Adds Free Wearables

The devs have also given an update on the incoming Mac version of the title.

Story Highlights

  • Lies of P is one of the most high-quality Soulslikes that have dropped this year for majority platforms.
  • The devs have rolled out a new update for the title, adding new Christmas cosmetics for free.
  • With the players delighted, more information on Lies of P’s upcoming Mac update was outed too.

Lies of P has been nothing but a sleeper hit all year around. Sure, back when Neowiz showed its upcoming project off in 2021, the game seemed promising, but the way it’s been executed has taken everyone aback, now that it’s out and kicking. Taking to X, the developers have announced a new update for the Soulslike right in time for Christmas; the contents of which have delighted players substantially.

First and foremost, the patch notes of the Lies of P update v1.4.0.0 tell us that three new wearable items have been added to the titles for absolutely free in an attempt to celebrate the festive spirit. It’s been said that following the successful installation of the update, players will automatically find the following three in their “Equipment” and “Bag” sections:

  • Midwinter Night’s Red Nose
  • Earnest Reindeer’s Antlers
  • Winter Festival Peaked Hat

As the news found itself circulating on the r/LiesOfP subreddit, one player uploaded gameplay screenshots, showing how each of the new cosmetic items looks when the protagonist is wearing them. You’ve got Christmas-themed antlers, the classic Christmas hat that everyone wears during the occasion, and Rudolph the Reindeer’s red nose to go along with those as well.

Outside of these latest additions, the Lies of P update v1.4.0.0 isn’t too big on bug fixes or other adjustments. The only other improvement that the patch notes talk about is, “Improved the quality of Japanese Translation.” However, in the post on X that announced the patch, the developers do say the following about the Mac update that’s been in the pipeline for some time now.

The Mac version is also being prepared and we promise to present it as soon as possible. We deeply apologise for the inconvenience.”

On a side note, though, Lies of P devs have confirmed more projects set in the Lies of P universe, including a sequel to the first game and subsequent DLC as well. This has been on the cards for a while now, considering the Dorothy mystery in the form of a post-credits scene that teased another character taking center stage.

Lies of P came out on September 19, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PCs, and macOS as well. The game has rolled well over a million copies to date and was nominated for numerous distinctions during this year’s The Game Awards.
