Diablo 4 Update 1.0.2c Addresses A Major Stability Bug For PC Players

A more streamlined experience.

Story Highlights

  • Diablo 4 has received another hotfix on PC which aims to address an SSD bug that causes the game to freeze on start-up.
  • Early access for Diablo 4 began on June 1 and the full launch is to take place on June 5. Players who were able to experience the game reported several gameplay and server-related issues.
  • Review scores for Diablo 4 have been positive as the title currently sits at 87 on Metacritic. Blizzard has also reported strong sales prior to the global release.

Following its previous update, Diablo 4 has received another patch on PC that resolves a prominent bug involving high-speed NVMe SSDs. This bug would cause the game to freeze upon start-up and players would have to reboot the game after terminating the process. According to the patch notes, update 1.0.2c also addresses several factors that caused abrupt crashes.

Diablo 4 is currently in early access with the full launch taking place on June 5, 2023. Players who’re currently playing the game had reported several bugs along with server-related issues that were promptly patched in the 1.0.2 hotfix earlier this week. Along with the server problems, the previous update also adjusted monster health values in later world tiers.

While this update isn’t comprehensive, it servers to create a more stable experience for Diablo 4 players ahead of launch. Considering the status of the famed franchise, it’s clear that the servers will have a huge inflow of players once the game sees its full launch, especially after Diablo Immortal and its unhinged microtransactions. Fans have been anxiously waiting for the mainline entry since its reveal at Blizzzcon in 2019.

Diablo 4 is currently sitting at a score of 87 based on 50 critic reviews on the aggregator site, Metacritic with many citing the game’s return to the roots and providing an experience that truly resonates with longtime Diablo fans and newcomers alike.

The next mainline installment in the famous RPG series has exceeded sales expectations even before the official release, as per Blizzard Entertainment’s recent financial reports. Blizzard also believes that the entry will raise the count of its monthly active users as the game’s servers begin to populate post-launch.

Diablo 4 is set for launch on June 5, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
