Lies Of P Has Sold More Than A Million Copies To Date

The Soulslike has gathered quite the fan base following its release.

Story Highlights

  • As far as Soulslikes go—non-FromSoftware games that imitate the Japanese developer’s style of making games—Lies of P has made quite the impression upon its release.
  • The game has launched to rave reviews across the board and has settled well with fans and critics alike for all that it brings to the table.
  • In a new tweet, Neowiz Games, expressing its gratitude, has revealed that Lies of P has sold more than 1 million copies up until now. It’s not even been 30 days since the game’s release.

It’s not like Lies of P’s newfound success wasn’t long coming. Even the game’s playable demo clocked a million downloads, hinting at everything right that Neowiz Games has done with the Soulslike. Now, however, it appears that Lies of P has sold more than a million copies up until now, and this is no small feat for a title that hasn’t even been out for a complete month.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to make the grand announcement, the developers thank the player base of the game for the continued support and hope that gamers join in for “future journeys” as well. That’s an obvious insinuation that Neowiz Games is currently hard at work creating DLC for Lies of P, considering how the post-credits scene of the title showed off someone quite interesting on the big screen.

Thing is, a job listing on the “Careers” section of Neowiz Games’ official website has already spilled the beans on what the developer is plotting for Lies of P ahead. Multiple open vacancies, including the Quest Planner, DLC Content Planner, and DLC Scenario/Setting Planner, clearly mention “DLC,” thus confirming that additional content for the well-received Soulslike is in the works.

Oh, and as for the “showed off someone quite interesting part,” it’s clear now that the developers are trying to bring all of our favorite childhood characters in this grisly fashion. After you beat the game, a sequence teases Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz children’s fantasy novel and related works, strolling about the now-ruined city of Krat and clicking her heels in her usual fashion.

Speculation still runs fresh, with fans taking guesses as to whether Dorothy will get her own full-blown game or will only appear alongside Pinnochio in the form of DLC for the game. The way things are going for the game, it’s hard not to assume that future projects have already been green-lit since Lies of P has been doing terrific commercially.
