Colossal Order CEO Commits To Weekly Updates For Cities: Skylines 2

Cities: Skylines 2 launched on October 24 with a number of performance issues that spoiled the gameplay experience of the players. To reassure fans, Colossal Order CEO, Mariina Hallikaine, has announced that she will “personally write a weekly update” to keep the fans informed about the developer’s work to mitigate the in-game problems.

Mariina made the announcement post on Paradox Forums, where she praised the community for their “incredible support” for Cities: Skylines 2, saying this is what keeps them motivated to keep revamping the game. Addressing the criticisms regarding the city-builder title, Colossal Order CEO said that despite many players enjoying the game” they are “also very aware that there are still people facing difficulties.”

Mariina assured the fans that their teams have left no stone unturned to take care of the problems being faced by the players. Her forum post read as follows, 

We are so happy for the incredible support we have received from the community for Cities: Skylines II. This gives us all the more reasons to keep working on the game and improving it for the future. There are many players enjoying the game as we speak, but we are also very aware that there are still people facing difficulties. We are doing our best to address those issues as quickly as we possibly can.”

In the latter part of her post, Mariina encouraged the fans to keep sending their feedback as it helps them to quickly identify and solve the issues ensuring smooth gameplay. She also said that their devs “look through everything” that is being sent their way. Further addressing the Cities: Skylines 2 players, Mariina said she personally will keep them up-to-date on everything regarding the city-building simulation game.

For transparency, I will personally write a weekly update on our social channels, so that if you want to, you can closely follow what Colossal Order is currently working on, and what our plans are for the future.”

Cities: Skyline 2’s release was plagued by several performance issues, especially on PC which sabotaged the game’s launch. Even the developers themselves braced the fans for the city-builder’s buggy launch. Colossal Order devs were quick to roll out a patch addressing the problems. As of now, it appears the title’s plight is far from over.

Cities: Skylines 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
