Sega left a major print in The Game Awards 2023 show with its assortment of new games. Fans have been curious to learn more since then about the revealed classic revival projects. The company has also kept in touch with the fans and stayed quite transparent about its plans and the status of its in-dev games. During a recent management meeting—the link has since been deleted—it unveiled key art pieces and descriptions for the titles that were revealed in the show.
The descriptions can be read by zooming into the images. Anyway, the Sonic franchise creator also confirmed that its projects will come out on multiple platforms upon launch (thanks, Genki). Sega will adopt a new key strategy to release titles together globally and on multiple platforms. In other words, most of its awaited games, like Persona 6, will be accessible on multiple platforms for the users, a huge disparity from the current ecosystem.
The management meeting also touches on other facets, such as its mobile sector and its games’ development throughout the globe, other strategies to bolster sales, and much more. The company wants to focus more on PC releases “to strengthen sales,” especially in Asia. We may see a focus on more PC releases in the future.
Additionally, the future titles in the Yakuza franchise could be set in foreign locations while keeping to utilize Japan. The move is planned to expand the IP into new horizons, but no other details have been confirmed.

The publisher has mentioned a sum of 5 entries to explicitly be in development, including Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Streets Of Rage, Golden Axe, and Crazy Taxi. Nevertheless, Sega clarified that it is just getting started. The revealed video also mentions that more unannounced projects are in development.
Sega has recently filed over eight trademarks for its past IPs, some of which were not included in the event. It indicates that we may be getting a huge surge of other old franchises with a modern twist soon. Only vague info is known about these in-dev projects behind the curtains. So, it is best to take the rumors with a grain of salt for now. However, we might hear more official details soon as the games develop over the months and years.
