Activision’s Call of Duty: Vanguard has rolled over 30 million copies, even after having a slew of negative reviews associated with it. As spotted by Bogorad22 on Twitter, the game’s former social media strategist Brian Hong brings up the sales milestone while discussing his expertise on LinkedIn. It is quite a shocker because the title was thought to have been flopped entirely by the fans. Instead, it has sold quite a massive number of copies. 

The Call of Duty franchise is among the most popular in the gaming industry, so the milestone makes sense to some extent. However, 30 million copies sold is also not a small figure by any means.

Even The Worst-Performing COD Games Attract A Lot Of Players

The sales metric shows that even a title dubbed to be doomed by most of the Call of Duty players can garner over 30 million sales. It illustrates the immense foothold of the franchise in the gaming industry, confirming that negative ratings do not affect COD games as much as we’d think. While many well-rated titles do not even sell over a million titles, the established IPs can hog most of the sales because of their massive player counts.
