Loki Just Vanished Ahead Of Marvel Rivals Season 10 Launch

A leaked key art image showing Gorr looming over a defeated Thor lines up a little too well with the timing.

Story Highlights

  • Loki has been disabled in Quick Play, Arcade, Practice vs AI, and 18v18, though he’s still playable in Competitive and social hubs.
  • His character select slot now shows a grey poster reading “Missing” in Asgardian-styled lettering.
  • The timing follows a PSN Store leak of Season 10’s key art, which appears to show Gorr the God Butcher holding a defeated Thor.

Marvel Rivals players trying to lock in Loki right now are out of luck. NetEase has pulled the God of Mischief from most of the game’s modes just days ahead of Season 10, and it doesn’t look like a bug.

Loki Is “MISSING”

Marvel Rivals
Loki is currently unplayable

Loki is currently disabled in Quick Play, Arcade, Practice vs AI, and 18v18, while remaining playable in Competitive and the game’s social hub areas. His usual character select slot hasn’t just been grayed out either, it now displays a poster reading “Missing” styled in Asgardian-looking lettering.

Gorr Is On The Hunt

Marvel Rivals
Gorr assassinated Khonshu during the events of Season 9.

The timing lines up with a key art leak that surfaced a day earlier. The PSN Store briefly and accidentally published Season 10 artwork appearing to show Gorr the God Butcher, Thor: Love and Thunder’s god-killing villain, holding a defeated Thor by the head.

Gorr’s entire comic and film history revolves around hunting down gods, and Marvel Rivals has no shortage of them: Thor, Hela, Angela, and Loki himself all qualify. With Loki missing from the game, other Asgardian siblings might be Gorr’s next target.

This isn’t the first time Marvel Rivals has pulled this sort of marketing gimmick. A month before Season 6, Deadpool was already present in the roster as a locked character, changing his roles every week leading up to launch.

What Comes With Season 10

Season 10 launches September 11, with NetEase’s dev vision blog for the season expected September 8, followed shortly after by a hero trailer. Gorr and Nightcrawler both leaked as the season’s new additions, with their alleged roles being Duelist and Strategist, respectively. It follows Season 9.5, which added The Hood as a new Vanguard and trimmed the game’s install size by roughly 40GB on PC and 15GB on console.
