Abandoned Leak Reveals New Things About The Game

PlayStation 5 is getting a lot of exclusive games in the coming years. This lineup has a lot of big hitters, like God of War Ragnarok, but also includes some unknown gems. Abandoned is one of these exclusives coming to the PlayStation 5 and this horror game has a lot of hype.

BLUE BOX Games Studios showed a teaser last April but since then we have had no news about the game. Rumors of cancellation started flying around a while back when the developer deleted some tweets from its official page. However, the developer has insisted that the game is still in the works and a new leak may prove that right.

We finally have some evidence that Abandoned exists in a very unusual new leak. Recently, a MoCap video, a script, and a screenshot of a brick wall (yes, a brick wall) from the game came out in a recent leak. The contents of this reveal are definitely a bit weird and we don’t see them every day. However, with how we are getting zero official news about the horror flick, even these bread crumbs are good.

The first thing we see in this Abandoned leak is a picture of a brick wall. It probably isn’t the most exciting leak but the texture and graphics on this wall look brilliant. BLUE BOX Game Studios is definitely taking full advantage of the PlayStation 5’s power and it shows.

Secondly, we get to see in this leak is a MoCap (Motion Capture) video from the development of the game. We see an animation sequence in this video where the player heals their leg after getting shot. It’s a complete sequence in which the player takes out their backup and interacts with the wound to treat it.

Finally, we get to see a page from the script of Abandoned. It’s a pretty short one-page excerpt but gives us a good glimpse at the narrative. We get to know about a bioweapon called “Zero Cell” and another project known as “Blue Box”. Apparently, using Blue Box AI simulation gives power to the Zero Cell and it can eliminate humans on the basis of their weakness.

This is pretty vague but, at least, now we know something about the basis of Abandoned. Players have noticed similarities to Hideo Kojima in this script and that’s a fair observation. All of these leaks have been verified by the moderators on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, so they definitely hold weight and it’s safe to say we are feeling the hype for Abandoned again.
