Check Fortnite System Requirements
Before diving into tweaking our PC settings, it’s crucial to check if our computer meets Fortnite’s requirements. I’ve gathered both the minimum and recommended PC specifications for Fortnite to make sure my system can handle it without any issues.
I’ve tried out different settings in Fortnite Chapter 5 to find the ones that make the game look good and run smoothly when playing with others, as shown below.First and foremost, let’s deal with sensitivity settings. Sensitivity is mostly set on personal preference and varies according to your controller. However, the following sensitivity settings are most used by players on average.
- Set the Build Mode Sensitivity Multiplier to 1.6x
- Put Edit Mode Sensitivity Multiplier to 16x
- Turn the “Advanced Options” on
- Set Look Horizontal Speed to 50%
- The Look Vertical Speeds can be 60%
- Turning Verticle Boost to 0%
- Put the Turning Boost Ramp Time to 0 seconds
- Turn on the Instant Boost When Building
- Both ADS Look Horizontal and Vertical Speed can be set to 17%
- Put ADS Turning Horizontal and Vertical Boost to 0%
- ADS Turning Boost Ramp Time can be set to 0 seconds
- Turn the Look Dampening Time to 0.20 seconds
- Set Look Input Curve to Exponential
- Aim Assist Strenght can be set anywhere from 80 to 100%.
- Put the Move and Look Stick Deadzone to 6%
- Enable the Foot Controller by turning it on
- Set the Foot Controller Deadzone and Max Throttle to 1%
And there you have it! As far as sensitivities lie, these settings should have you covered in detail. Now, let’s jump onto some quality-of-life settings in Fortnite.
Some Tweaks For Better Performance
These are some of my quick and simple In-game settings adjustments that helped me have better performance.
Turning off Record Replays
Turning off “Record Replays” in Fortnite stops the game from saving videos of your gameplay while you’re playing. When it’s on, the game uses up computer power and memory to keep recording everything you do. By turning it off, the game doesn’t have to do this extra work, which makes Fortnite run smoother and faster on your computer.Setting Sound Quality to Low
Changing the Sound Quality setting to “Low” actually helped my game run faster. When the sound quality is lower, the game doesn’t have to work as hard to process all the sounds. This gives my computer a bit of a break, making Fortnite run smoother and faster, especially during busy moments in the game. Here are more Fornite error-fix guides on eXputer for you to explore:
