Baldur’s Gate 3 Scuffed Rock [How To Move, Location & Rewards]

Right at the start of Baldur’s Gate 3 near the Nautiloid Crash Site, there is a Scuffed Rock that is a little tricky to move. The rock is hidden, and upon moving it, you will find some hidden treasure that you definitely should get as it is right at the start. So, in this guide, I will tell you about the location of BG3 Scuffed Rock and how to move it.

Location Of Scuffed Rock In Baldurs Gate 3

You won’t be able to locate the Scuffed Rock in plain sight as it is hidden to the southwest of the Nautiloid Crash Site. The place is quite near to where you meet the extravagant rouge, Astarion. Now, here is the tricky part. As said before, the rock is hidden, so to reach the Scuffed Rock Baldurs Gate 3, you will have to leap down from the cliff.

This you are sure to take some fall damage so you don’t have to worry about that. However, you can prevent taking any fall damage by using Feather Fall. Now, as you reach the rock, your character will perform a perception skill that all of the characters in your are eligible to do. So, let your character perform the perception skill. Now, the next step is to move the rock.

How To Move BG3 Scuffed Rock

Moving the Scuffed Rock is actually pretty simple, but it has some requirements, which is why some players might have struggled with it. To move the rock, you would need a character with a high-strength core. You might already know that I am talking about Lae’zel, the Githyanki Fighter companion you meet on the Nautiloid ship. 

She has enough strength to move the rock, so make sure to bring her with you. If you are playing a character with a high-strength core, then you wouldn’t need her as you would be able to move the Scuffed Rock by yourself. So, this decision comes with the type of build you have chosen. That being said, now all you have to do is to move the rock. Follow the following steps to move the rock:

1. With a high-strength core character in your party, head over to the place where Scuffed Rock is located.
2. Now switch to the character with the high-strength core.
3. The next step is to highlight the Scuffed Rock with your mouse and then simply click and drag to move the rock. 

Hidden Rewards

When you have successfully removed the rock, you will find an Ornate Chest.

The chest will contain the following items:

• 1 ruby
• 13 Gold
• 1 Harper’s Map
• 1 Harper’s Notebook
• 2 Potion of Speed
• 1 Agate
