The giant crusher in Elden Ring is easily one of the most sought-after weapons and there is no surprise that it holds that spot. Like just observe its perks, one blow of the Giant Crusher is equivalent to five to six blows of a fully upgraded sword. This chiseled massive boulder holds the ability to stagger most of the enemies in the game and even one-shotting some of them. Its slow yet impactful blows are what make this the perfect choice for players who have more of a tanky strength build. So if you have a tanky build, want to bully all your foes in The Lands Between, and have a burning desire to strike fear in the hearts of other players in Co-op mode, then our Giant Crusher Location Guide is written just for you.
- The Giant Crusher has one of the highest damage outputs in the game. However, there’s a downside it’s extremely slow and requires 60 Strength to wield.
- You can obtain the Giant Crusher on a large cart wagon guarded by a miniboss in the Atlus Plateau region.
- There are two ways to get to Atlus Plateau. The first is by defeating the bosses and progressing through Ruin-Strewn Precipice. The second is to complete the Dectus medallion.
- It is possible to get the Giant Crusher by sneaking around the camp’s mini-boss without fighting it.
Before we continue you should know that this big rock weapon is more like a two-edged sword, let us explain. The Giant Crusher’s blows are brutally damaging at the expense of its speed, this can be a pain for the players who are new to this playstyle, but once you get the hang of it then it is all fun and games from there. While you’re at it, why not read our Elden Ring Giant Crusher Build guide.
Another thing that should be brought to light is that you at least need to have level 60 in the Strength stat in order to just wield it properly, making it one of the best strength weapons in Elden Ring. With all that out of the way, let us dive deeper to discuss the best routes for locating the Giant Crusher in Elden Ring.
Locating The Giant Crusher In Elden Ring

The Giant Crusher is found on a large crashed cart wagon guarded by a rather annoying mini-boss type of enemy. It should come as no surprise to be honest, we mean it is a From Software game so it is no wonder that one of the best weapons in the game is guarded by one of the most annoying enemies. In order to get to the cart wagon where the hammer is found, you mainly need to reach the Altus Plateau. Now, there are two ways you can go about it, let us discuss each in detail.
Method One For Reaching Altus Plateau

The following method is actually a secret way to get to the Altus Plateau early on in the game, that being said it Is filled with perilous enemies at every corner so prepare to cry. This path will also contain two different bosses which will be hard to fight (obviously) but the rewards for them are worth it.
Anyhow, the site of grace you need to be at to start this is Ravine-Veiled Village one, from here climb the ladder up. Then climb another ladder on the right, follow along the wooden ledge and climb the third ladder. Once on the top, head straight to the mine area and take the left path there. Continue along till you reach another ladder, you have to climb this one too.
Getting To The Ruin-Strewn Precipice

After that, you want to go straight then take a sharp right and head right onto the lift, stand on the lift and reach the top. Once you are on the top, get ready to use the good old “Run past them till the next bonfire” tactic here. Go straight after the lift ride ends, there will be a bunch of enemies here, completely ignore them and dash straight past them, then take a left towards out in the open.
You will get the Ruin-Strewn Precipice pop up on the screen here and find a site of grace too. After resting, stand on the lift next to the site of grace ( the path from here is pretty linear so keep going straight till your next ladder).
Engaging The Bosses

Climb the ladder, when on top go left then right in the shadowed area, here you will find another ladder on a wooden structure, Climb it. After climbing this one keep following the path and climb another ladder. Now once you climb this one, you can get the Curved Serpent Sword by fighting the miniboss on the right. Though if you’re not in the mood for him you can just skip him.
Now get onto the lift after the staircase and rest on the “Ruin -Strewn Precipice Overlook” site of grace. After resting you will find a big fog gate to the right. Behind this Is the Magma Wyrm boss defeating whom will grant you access to the final lift you need to take to get to the Altus Plateau.
Method Two For Getting To The Altus Plateau

In case the first method to reach the Altus Plateau didn’t fancy you, try this one. The second method requires you to get the two halves of the Dectus Medallion to activate the Grand Lift Of Dectus. You can check our Elden Ring Dectus Medallion Left & Right Pieces Locations guide to get a thorough explanation of how to obtain each of them.
From Altus Plateau To Locating The Giant Crusher in Elden Ring

Assuming you have arrived at the Altus Plateau your next destination is the “Outer Phantom Wall” site of grace in the South-Eastern region of the map. So get on your torrent and start galloping towards there. Once you are at the mentioned site of grace, rest! so in case, the situation goes bananas, you can just start again from here. Once rested get back on the Horse and start heading south until you see a Campsite.
The Giant Crusher is found inside this Campsite but it is guarded by a super annoying boss. The good news is that it is entirely avoidable provided your stealth skills from Sekiro are still sharp. So you can simply sneak past this grotesque worm thingy (we don’t even know at this point) and get the Legendary Giant Crusher. Your target here is the broken cart wagon as that is where the chest which contains the hammer is found.

Now let’s say that you are feeling heroic and do want to take town the mini-boss then all we can say is unsheathe that Katana, sharpen that Greatsword, and get ready to get your dodging reflexes tested in the most brutal way possible by the Ulcerated Tree Spirit mini-boss who guards the Giant Crusher. Defeating it will reward you with the Golden Seed so our Elden Ring Giant Crusher Location guide recommends that you kill it. The boss can seem intimidating at first but if you can dodge its swipes across the ground and chip at its health, then it too shall die. Once he’s dead, head to the same cart wagon mentioned before and grab the hammer you have worked so hard for.
