Clear The LevelCache Folder

The cache is useless temp files that your game continually stores up as you continue to play the game. These cached files slow down the game and reduce its performance when they become corrupted and in large quantities.

More specifically, for Baldur’s Gate 3 the cache stored in the LevelCache folder of the Larian Studios directory becomes a massive problem as corrupted files in the LevelCache folder can lead to saving and loading problems.

Clearing these cache files gives the game a decent boost in performance while fixing the saving issue.

To clear the contents of the LevelCache folder, follow these steps:

  1. Open file explorer and browse to ‘C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\LevelCache’. Make sure you write your username in the username place.
  2. Then delete all the files located in this folder.
  3. You can quickly reach this folder by copying %LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\LevelCache into Explorer’s location bar.

Delete the Baldur’s Gate 3 AppData Folder

To delete game progress data, navigate to Baldur’s Gate 3 installation directory on your PC through the Steam folder and delete the local app data folder. Additionally, the game syncing issue should disappear once it begins saving game progress data in a new way.
