Food for the Great Condor can be found around the Crow’s Nest in FF7 Rebirth in the Junon region. The Crow’s Nest is the same area where you start the side quest known as the Dreaming of Blue Skies, which requires you to get food for the Condor additionally. The quest is given by an old man named Colin, who wants an offering to see the Great Condor again.
- Acquiring food for Condor is part of the Dreaming of Blue Skies side quest, which is available in the Junon region in FF7 Rebirth.
- The quest requires players to acquire a Mountain Chocobo and to track down suitable prey for the Great Condor.
- You should complete this side quest if you want to deepen your relationship with Tifa and are trying to romance her.
- Completing the quest will also reward players with a good amount of EXP and a Warding Materia.
- Author’s Note: I have finished the main story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and have accumulated over 35 hours of playtime, so you can put your trust in the information provided in my guide.
How To Get Condor Food
Here is a summary of all the steps that you need to follow in order to get food for the Condor:
No. | Steps | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Getting A Mountain Chocobo | Finding a Mountain Chocobo is necessary for this quest and players will need to complete a cart-wheel mini-game in order to get one. |
2 | Finding The Food For Condor | After acquiring the Chocobo, players can track down a cow from the hunting spot which can be used as food for Condor. |
3 | Fighting The Mystic Dragon | At the end of tracking, players will need to beat a Mystic Dragon in order to get their hands on the food. |
4 | Bringing Back The Food | The game presents the players with three choices to use as food which they can bring back to the Condor Hill in Crow's Nest. |
Getting A Mountain Chocobo
- Location: After accepting the quest, the first thing you’ll need to get is a Mountain Chocobo because you’ll have to scale mountains, which is impossible without one. If you haven’t already captured a Chocobo, then you can make your way to the location in the image above.
- Cart-Wheel Minigame: You’ll have to use carts to get around the pack of Chocobos without alerting them to make your way to the Mountain Chocobo. It is not that difficult, and you’ll have multiple checkpoints, which is really helpful if you alert the Chocobos.
Finding The Food For Condor
- Location: Make your way to the Hunting Spot location shown in the image above, which is pretty close to Crow’s Nest in Junon. You will come across a cow you can use as food, but the cow will run away as soon as you arrive.
- Chasing The Cow: Using your Chocobo, you can track down the cow by following its scent, and you’ll have to fight some monsters along the way.
- The Mystic Dragon: At the end of your tracking, a Mystic Dragon will come in and fly away with the cow. You will then have to climb cliffs using your Chocobo to pursue the cow by following its scent.
Fighting The Mystic Dragon
- Location: Following the scent of the cow using your Chocobo, you will arrive at the Wyrmhole, where you’ll have to fight the Mystic Dragon in order to get your hands on the cow’s meat.
- Mystic Dragon’s Weakness: The Mystic Dragon is not a tough enemy to beat, and its weakness is Wind. I easily beat it by pressurizing the dragon with Cloud’s ranged attacks and wind spells.
- Choosing Food For Condor: After beating the Mystic Dragon, you will be presented with three different choices to use as food for Condor, which includes the Bovine Meat, the Flesh of the Mystic Dragon, or the Plants that grow in the Wyrmhole.
Bringing Back The Food
I chose the Bovine Meat as the food for Condor and brought it back to Condor Hill at Crow’s Nest. After finishing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I replayed the quest and chose other options, but I found out that you can get the best ending to this quest by using the Bovine Meat.
After giving the meat to Colin, he uses it as a sacrifice for Condor, which arrives in a cutscene that plays shortly after. You will be rewarded with a warding materia and party EXP when the quest is completed. Your relationship with Tifa will also deepen by completing the Dreaming of Blue Skies side quest. You will also get a well-composed photograph of Cloud and Tifa with the Great Condor.
This concludes my guide on obtaining food for the Condor in FF7 Rebirth. I have listed the complete walkthrough of the Dreaming of Blue Skies side quests with the location of the food and the type of enemies you need to fight to obtain it.
