There are about Eight Ways from which you can get the Chaos Flame. It is important to tell you the whereabouts of the Flame since most of you are in the middle of the game or the start or maybe even almost at the end. The Chaos Flames will help upgrade the Blades of Chaos. The guide will help you find the flames no matter where you are in the game.

Since you begin the game with the Blades of Chaos, it may be enhanced far better than it could ever be in the previous part of the game. As a result, there are a lot more Chaos Flames hidden across the realms that you may discover when adventuring, opening chests, and completing quests. Remember that there will be minor plot spoilers included below, so yes, you have been warned.

Main Storyline

When playing God Of War Ragnarok, players play the game for its storyline. The main storyline is the respective chain of quests. As you complete each quest, you further move on in the storyline. The ways to get the Chaos Flames mentioned below are part of the main storyline, making them hard to miss.

The Dreki Fight

The Dreki Fight In GOWR

The first way to get the Chaos Flame in God Of War Ragnarok is to fight a cute but dragon-type creature. He is cute but very angry, and you end up coming across it while going through GOWR’s main story. That does not mean he is “story related”. You just happen to stumble across its area. It is called The Dreki and isn’t really that powerful, but it can be tricky to fight with.

Its attacks are very easy to predict and counter, making it not so difficult. All you wanna look out for most is the lightning attacks it makes. Just by two of its lightning attacks, you are dealt with massive damage lowering your health significantly. It is going to take two-thirds of your health, making it important to dodge it. So make sure to heal by crushing the healing stones

It also causes a little stun, so make sure you are wearing armor like Steinbjorn Armor to have protection. What you have to do is engage in simple combat with and evade the lightning attacks.

Make sure to gain an advantage over the Dreki by utilizing your shield and counter-attacking. After lowering the five health bars of the creature, it will die, and that is how you get the Chaos Flame.

Forest Ancient Battle

Battling the Forest Ancient is much later on in the game. You will come across the Forest Ancient after going to Vanaheim with Freya in the Reckoning quest. You may recognize the creature since there was another one in the previous God Of war game. But in some cases, he is quite different. He has a huge health bar which makes dodging and hitting your first priority.

He seems to be powered by a red core that shoots a laser at you. Along with the laser, at times, he bends down and makes a ground rage attack at you. It seems as though his core is his strength, but it is also his main weakness. Aiming at the core and constantly attacking it will deplete his health much faster than aiming for his head.

You can also pick up the rocks from the forest to throw at his core. Stay clear of the creatures formed in the forest, as they may look harmless but can be dangerous. Once you have depleted his health enough, Kratos will finish him off like always by smashing his foot onto his chest. Once that happens, the Forest Ancient dies, and that is how you get the Chaos Flame in God Of War Ragnarok.

Frost Phantom Boss Fight

The Frost Phantom In GOWR

During the World Of Fate Quest, While making your way through Midgard with Freya alongside, you encounter a powerful foe. It is actually a Frost Phantom which is a kind of rogue magic embedded with a ruin. Its purple magic is really powerful, and it is quick on its own. It moves into the ground and appears out of nowhere, making it hard to track it.

What you have to do is to evade its attack and make sure you are wearing armor that withstands a good amount of damage. Mainly you have to hit the Phantom’s core to build more stun constantly. Its health bar is protected, which means you have to cause large amounts of damage to defeat it. You do that by hitting the core when it is glowing the brightest.

Hitting it when it glows makes the Phantom stagger. The health bar gets locked four times, so make sure you have your combos set up correctly in order to defeat it. It moves fast, so you have to rely on your aim and reflexes too. Killing it is how you get the Chaos Flame in God Of War Ragnarok. It is by far the hardest to defeat, so hone your skills along the way.

Dreki Pair Battle

You encounter once again a Dreki, but this time it’s a pair! You stumble across the battle while going back to Freya’s Camp in the Creatures Of Prophecy quest. There are dragon creatures hungry for battle and men’s blood. This time they encountered not a man but a god. They are rather not that difficult to defeat on their own, but together they are hard to defeat.

Their combo is to attack you from the front and back, making it hard to battle both. Their strikes are powerful, so you need to be wearing armor like the Nidavellir Armor to protect against constant damage. As the pair’s strength is the double combo, you have to focus on killing one at a time. Focus on just one of the Dreki and try to dodge or block the other Dreki’s damage.

Once you have killed just one of the two, the other is easy to finish. The strategy here is to evade and wait for your moments. At this point in the game, you will have enough abilities and equipment to kill the creatures easily. After killing the last Dreki, it will drop the Chaos Flame as a sweet reward for your troubles.

The Soul Eaters

The Soul Eaters In GOWR

Okay, this is by far the hardest fight you will have to face in order to get the Chaos Flame in God of War Ragnarok. You will come across the battle in The Summoning story quest after you try to talk to Surtr, and he slams you off like you ain’t the God Of War. The Draugr is a kind of defender for the realm, which means he will be a problem to defeat.

Even after your hands are full with one Soul Eater, another appears after a while. Both the Ancients together can be really hard to defeat since they are giant creatures with lava cores embedded in them. Their strikes cause immense power that can deplete your health, majorly if you get hit. But it is possible to kill them easily, even on the first try, when done right.

You have to come up with a combo using the Blades, the Axe, and the Draupnir Spear. If you have already mastered that, it will be a piece of cake to defeat them. Try to aim for their cores and rapidly throw the unlimited Draupnir spears at them.  Killing the last Soul Eater is how you get the Chaos Flame in God Of War Ragnarok.

Side Quests

The game developers yet again added Side Quests to the game. Side quests are basically challengers across the map not related to the storyline. You can do them for mere fun and entertainment as you explore the map. There are a lot of side quests in the game, making it easy to miss where the Chaos Flames are found. But we are here to tell you about every spot you can find them.

Crucible Challenges Chest

The challenge is rather different than the others since it is a side quest. It is found at The Crucible location, where all you have to do is completed Six crucible challenges. They are very easy to do and can be done in a matter of minutes. All the challenges are simple to understand too. Opening the Sixth Chest is how you the Chaos Flame in God Of War Ragnarok.

Draugr Holes

The Draugr Holes in GOWR

There is a lot of moving around and fighting required to get the Chaos Flame in this one. There are about Six Draugr Holes that you need to complete. Each one of them has the same amount of Draugrs that attack you, but the holes are situated in different locations.

One is at the watch tower of The Bay of Bounty in the Svartalfheim realm. The Second is situated at The Applecore, also in the Svartalfheim realm. The third Draugr hole is found in the Barrens in Alfheim. The Fourth one is found at the Lake Of The Nine at Midgard.

The second last or Fifth one is situated at The Abandoned Village in Vanaheim. The sixth and final is located at The Plains in Vanaheim.

Fighting the Draugrs can be a drag since there are three of them with normal attacks. They are called The Hateful, which is well suited as they are annoying and trying to kill you. The attacks they use are evadable but blocking them with a shield is a better option. Your strategy with them should be to drag it out as long as you can. Try to hit long-range shots and maintain a distance.

If you maintain a distance and shoot they will be dealt with damage without them being able to counter it. The only way they could do that is by spriting towards you, but you can block that out by shield. Other than that, they cannot do much to you, so kill them. The final Draugr Hole you fight is how you get the Chaos Flame in God Of War Ragnarok.

Berserker Gravestone

The Berserker Gravestone In GOWR

The Berserker gravestone fights are a bunch of side quests where you have to defeat dead warriors of the past. You do that by unlocking their grave with a key and fighting them. The one you are going to fight to help you obtain Chaos Flame is Haklangr The Bearded. The Berserker Gravestone is found at The Sinkholes in Vanaheim.

He is a tough opponent to fight since his health bar is extremely high. All of his attacks are balanced since he can make both long-range and close-range attacks. At long range, he jumps at you, and the ground damage spread is high. If you are caught in the Splash area, it can do some serious damage. It is required for you to not engage in battle with him if you don’t have a bigger health bar.

You have to counter his attacks and focus and block more. Constantly hitting him is the way to end the fight because if you drag it too long, your health bar will completely deplete. Use combos from the skill tree to help do more damage. Focus on increasing the stun bar because if you can stun him, you can perform finishers early. Once he dies, he leaves behind the Chaos Flame.
