However, in the Norse world, Kratos seems a lot older and more mature than in his time in the Greek world.

Kratos almost seems the same in God of War Ragnarok, as in the first installment of the Norse series. Kratos‘ age is estimated differently based on two perspectives:

  1. Real-Time Events Perspective:
    • Kratos is calculated to be approximately 1020 years old. This calculation is based on the real-life dates of Greek mythological events and the Spartan era. The Destruction of Sparta occurred around 464 BC, while the events before and during Fimbulwinter took place around 535 AD, making the two events almost 1000 years apart. Given that Kratos was about 30 years old in God of War 1, adding up the years until the Fimbulwinter yields an estimated age of 1020 years.
  2. In-Game Events Perspective:
    • Kratos’ age is estimated to be around 205 years old. This calculation is based on events within the game series. Assuming Kratos was about 30 years old at the start of the series (God of War 1), and around 50 years old at the end of the Greek trilogy (God of War 3), adding 150 years for the duration Tyr’s temple was dead and revived with Kratos’ arrival, results in an estimated age of 205 years.

So according to these two ideas, Kratos is either 200 Years old or 1020 Years old in God of War Ragnarok. However, Both perspectives offer different calculations, and it’s up to interpretation which one to consider. The shift from Greek to Norse mythology complicates the calculation of Kratos’ age compared to Atreus.
