There are three starter cars, and your choice will definitely be influenced by the type of player that you are because these three cars have different strengths and weaknesses. The three Car Types are muscle cars, exotic cars, and tuner cars. 

Each type has a car choice, and hardcore fans of the series will immediately recognize that these types are a throwback to the older Need For Speed titles. While these cars are some of the best cars at what they do, they are different from each other. Meaning that one of them may be good at one with whereas falling short in categories that the other cars are good at.

Dodge Charger

The 1969 Dodge Charger R/T is one of the cars available for you to pick at the start of the game. It is a classic muscle car, and many series fans will immediately recognize its signature looks. This car excels at drifting and is the best among the three if you want to go with that route. It has unmatched horsepower, which allows it to drift with immaculate precision. 

Due to having the highest horsepower among the starter cars, it falls short in the top speed category. This is because the gearbox only has 4 gears instead of the 5 or 6 gears common for race cars. Although, that might not be a problem for those who are muscle car fans. It is understood that muscle cars feel heavy to drive, but that risk is paid off thanks to the handling that these cars provide.

Lamborghini Countach

The 1988 Lamborghini Countach is perhaps the most balanced car out of the three while being exotic. It is also the fastest accelerating car of the bunch, beating out the other two options. It is for players who want a car that does well at everything. One could say that it is the jack of all trades. 

While it doesn’t have as much horsepower as the Dodge Charger, it has more horsepower than the Nissan Silvia. Similarly, it has more top speed than the Charger but falls behind on speed compared to the Silvia. But, without a doubt, it is the best at accelerating among the three. The Countach is the best option for straightforward tracks without many turns, as it can accelerate faster than the other two, at a rate of 0-60 MPH in just 4 seconds.

Nissan Silvia

The 1998 Nissan Silvia K’s, a classic tuner car, is the top choice for pure speed and style among starter cars. Despite its lower horsepower than other options, it excels in speed on both tracks and off-road. It outperforms the Lamborghini Countach in off-roading capabilities. However, its acceleration lags by 0.2 seconds, affecting on-track performance. Still, it’s a great option for those seeking off-roading and drifting while having the fastest car.

Honda Civic 2000

The 2000 Honda Civic Type-R is perhaps one of the best options that you can pick for your starter car. It has a front-wheel drive, so it is not as adept at drifting, but it excels at all the other options. This car is also a trademark of the Need For Speed series, as it has appeared many times throughout the games.

But in terms of pure stats, this car is unmatched. It is also the fastest car on the list and also has a pretty decent horsepower to boot. 

It costs $ 35,000 and is the most expensive car on our list, but keeping in mind the price-to-performance ratio, it is the best option that money can buy at the start of the game. The only problem that we can say the car has is that it is too expensive. Other than that, it is what we recommend you pick as your starter car. Subaru BRZ 2014

Ford Crown Victoria 2008

The 2008 Ford Crown Victoria is perhaps the weakest option from the ones we have listed so far, but nonetheless, it is better than the other available cars we haven’t covered. Barely nudging its way into our top 5 list is the Crown Victoria, but that is nothing to scoff at. 

This car costs $34,600 in the game. It is on the expensive side of things. It has the most horsepower out of the cars we have listed and has a respectable top speed. Here are the car’s stats so that you can decide if it is the right pick for you.

• Max Torque:  369 Nm.
• Top Speed: 135 MPH.
• Acceleration: 0-60 MPHs in 9.2 seconds.

Remember that you will get a legendary version of this car if you progress the story to a certain point.

The Best Option

While there is no definite answer to this question, as it all depends on your preferences, we will try to recommend the best starter car. Each car can be the best for you, but we think the Lamborghini Countach is the best pick. 

Thanks to its balanced nature, it performs well under many circumstances. Compared to the fastest car, the Silvia, it is only slower by 2 MPH, which doesn’t make a huge difference. It has respectable horsepower and is also the best at accelerating, which can get you out of a pinch in many situations. 

The Lamborghini Countach is also the most expensive car out of the three, making it worth much more in the end. With that being said, the final choice is all up to you.
