NFS Unbound Support Studio Developing AAA Racing Game Based On “Creatures”

The studio has previously helped EA with many projects.

Story Highlights

  • Stellar Entertainment is working on a new AAA racing game where you race as different creatures.
  • It supported Need for Speed Unbound development and worked on Burnout Paradise Remastered, among others.
  • The devs were also working on an Unreal Engine 5 AAA arcade racing game; both these titles are likely the same.

Stellar Entertainment, the support studio behind NFS Unbound and dev of Burnout Paradise Remastered, is creating a new AAA racing Unreal Engine 5 project. The unannounced entry focuses on creatures that suggest we may race as them with different abilities. The job listing for the game—accessible only after closing the initial pop-up—was seeking a Senior Animator & Rigger who would be responsible for designing these creatures.

The requirements of the listing suggest that the animator will be responsible for adding a 3D skeleton to many different vehicles and characters, most of which are creatures, with some in humanoid form. Another set of job listings on the official site of Stellar Entertainment suggests that the unnamed project will fall under the arcade racing genre—provided the current job listing discusses the same game as the old ones.

Setup and maintain animator friendly rigs for different types of vehicles and characters (mostly creatures but some humanoid). […] Strong showreel to show the ability to rig and animate a wide range of different vehicles and creatures.”

More details regarding the unannounced entry are still up in the air by Stellar Entertainment, so take the current tidbits with a grain of salt. However, we may learn more as it develops over the coming years. It is quite a unique idea if the devs are developing a new IP based on creature racing. Most of the fans were hoping for another title in the Burnout Paradise series, as the discussed concept seems too wild.
