RE4 Remake: How To Defeat Savage Mutt

The Savage Mutt is a request, or you can call it a side quest in the game that tasks you with bringing down the Savage Mutt. Now, to start the quest, you must head to the village town hall during Chapter 5. Next, around the merchant outside the hall, you will find a blue note on a wall. Once you interact with the blue note, you will gain the request to hunt down the Savage Mutt.

The Savage Mutt quest note reads as follows:

“I need someone to get rid of the wild dog that’s been roaming around the village. It’ll be easy to spot; it’s not like a normal dog.”

Finding The Savage Mutt 

Obviously, the first after gaining the request is to locate the Savage Mutt. Fortunately, that is easy to do so as all you have to do is head to the village chief’s manor, which is located on the south path from the village square. Also, to make it easier, the game leads you to the manor through a small face icon. 

Furthermore, it would be best if you recognized the place as you visit the place in an earlier chapter. Although previously, you were not able to explore it fully as you did not have Ashley by your side. So do explore the manor fully for some treasures.

However, this is not required to engage in the Savage Mutt fight; you only need to spend a little time inside the manor and then make your way out. And once you exit, you will see the cold red piercing eye of the Savage Mutt outside the gate. The Savage Mutt will run off towards the village square. Next, just follow the Savage Mutt to engage in a battle with the beast.

How To Defeat The Savage Mutt

Now obviously, the Savage Mutt is infected with Plagas, which makes it a lot tougher and scarier to deal with. However, if you keep a few tips in mind, then you will be able to deal with it efficiently. The following are a few tips that we used to make short work of the Savage Mutt:

• First is that you should lure the beast out of the village square and into a narrow and more controllable space. This is because it will restrict the beast’s movement, and also, the villagers would not get in your way.
• Secondly, you should keep your distance from the beast and make use of your ranged weapons.
• And make use of preferably the shotgun or else the rifle to deal massive amounts of damage to the beast.
• Also, once the beast is knocked down or a group of enemies joins the fight, you should make use of your grenades, as they will quickly deal with the groups of enemies and deal massive damage to the Savage Mutt.

If you make sure to implement these tips while taking on the Savage Mutt, it will make the fight much easier to deal with.

Rewards For The Savage Mutt Request

Furthermore, once you deal with the beast, you will be able to gain an Alexandrite Gemstone from the beast’s body. Also, upon turning in the request to the merchant, you will be rewarded with 8 Spinels. 

And there is also a bonus reward that you might be able to gain if you head up to the bedroom in the village chief’s manor. There you will need to find a hidden lever behind an intractable picture or painting. This will drop a staircase from the ceiling that will lead to the attic. Upon exploring the attic path, you will find the Antique Camera Treasure. It can be sold to the merchant for 10,000 pesetas.
