The game being one of the most prominent titles in 2023 has now reached a milestone of 7 million copies sold within less than a year of release. With that, the remake has become the seventh best-selling title in the RE franchise, according to the official list of Platinum titles.

Capcom had previously announced the sales for the remake in its financial report for nine months ended December 31, 2023, stating a milestone of 6.48 million units sold, making it the fastest-selling title in the franchise. This means that the game has sold another 500k only in 2024. The game’s immense popularity was evident from its astronomical opening week, hitting 3 million in just two days. 

The original Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005 for Gamecube followed by a myriad of re-releases on modern platforms. The combined sales of the base game across all platforms are 13.1 million sales, a milestone closely followed by the remake. 

Resident Evil 4 remake was launched on March 24, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. It was then re-released on Mac, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad late last year, too. In eXputer’s review, Abdul Haddi rated it a perfect 5, calling it the True Perfection.
