Looks Like Dragon’s Dogma 2 Is Having A Rough Time On PC

Players report rampant performance issues.

Story Highlights

  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 by Capcom is the hotly anticipated JRPG that everyone’s got their eyes on this year.
  • As review platforms get their hands on the game, reports highlighting its PC performance come forward.
  • The title isn’t doing well on PC, requiring extensive hardware to barely run on recommended settings.

Well, this does not look too good for one of the biggest games of the year for what is otherwise expected to be an easy Game of the Year contender. As more and more review platforms get their hands on the JRPG, the number of reports citing Dragon’s Dogma 2 abysmal hardware requirements on PC continue to surface, confirming that players will need highly beefed-up rigs for any chances of running it smoothly.

The first game was awesome though.

So far, PC Gamer has penned down a detailed write-up, analyzing Dragon’s Dogma 2’s performance on the platform. As per its findings, frame drops and like-minded inconsistencies are currently abundant in the game, no matter what locale you go to in the game, whether it’s Vernworth — one of the most detailed spots in the title — or something else of a lesser in-depth nature.

Additionally, RPG Site confirms that you can’t play the game on Steam Deck at the moment, and it’s probably going to stay that way for a considerable period of time. The flip side is, Capcom has confirmed that it’s taking active notice of the situation at hand, saying,

We are aware that in such situations, settings that reduce GPU load may currently have a limited effect; however, we are looking into ways to improve performance in the future,” says a Capcom representative to IGN.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Troubled Performance Masks The Brilliance Underneath

Capcom previously released a dedicated character creator demo for Dragon’s Dogma 2 that will carry your save over to the full game when you buy it. It’s an understatement to say that the demo lets your creativity run wild, taking into account all the outlandish creations people have made so far.
