Street Fighter 6 has officially sold over 2 million copies, an achievement which it will celebrate by giving players an in-game reward. It took the game less than a week after release to reach the 1 million milestone, and now another month to hit the most recent goal. This has brought more life into Capcom‘s projections of 10 million copies sold in the game’s lifetime.

Street Fighter 6’s release was nothing short of a huge success, with the game achieving impressive sales in a short period. While many wouldn’t fathom Street Fighter 6 is a contender for the Game of the Year award, it is certainly our top contender. The early success and this recent milestone are testimonials of the franchise’s latest iteration.

These sales are even more impressive, considering how Street Fighter 5 was not a great entry in the franchise. DLC costumes saved Street Fighter 5 from the financial crisis, which is part of the reason the series could continue as we know it. Street Fighter 6 became the second best-selling game in the UK within a few days after launch and sold great numbers simply by being a very fun game.

Street Fighter 6 has over 90 Metascore across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Capcom has high expectations from the game and projected over 10 million copies sold, which seems attainable now. The marketing is also going at full throttle, with Street Fighter 6 contesting the largest fighting game tournament ever at EVO 2023.

Street Fighter 6 was developed and published by Capcom and released on June 2 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The game includes 18 playable characters, a World Tour story mode, and Battle Hub as a featured lobby for online matches.
