Stardew Valley: Fighter Vs. Scout – Which Profession Is Better

While going through the mines, every player levels up their Combat skill tree in Stardew Valley and upon reaching level 5. You are presented with the choice between the Fighter or Scout professions, which affect your battle prowess in Stardew Valley.

The fighter profession at Level 5 increases your overall damage by 10%. It is a flat damage increase, making dealing with monsters in the mines easier. On the other hand, the scout profession at Level 5 increases your chance of landing critical hits by 50%, which means you have more opportunities to land critical hits, improving your damage by 1.5%.

The only difference between them is that at Level 10; Fighters get the choice to pick between boosting their overall damage by 15% or getting an extra 25HP. Scouts, on the other hand, at Level 10, get the choice to do 2 times damage with their crits or cut the cooldown on special moves on weapons by half.

My Opinion On Fighter Or Scout

Honestly, I love the overall damage boost Fighter provides compared to what Scout offers. It’s mainly because critical hits are often less useful because they’re less reliable, but a properly equipped crit build can crit every other hit. Many different weapons have higher crit chances, such as Daggers or using certain gems to build your weapons at the Dungeon Forger on the 10th floor of Volcano Dungeon.
