E.Honda’s Character Design

E. Honda seems to be a very muscular Japanese man in his early 40s, representing the Japanese culture in the world of Street Fighter. Honda wears his Yukata once more in Street Fighter 6, but this time it features striking black, teal, and yellow stripes. The folded sleeves catch attention with their vibrant red color.

Interestingly, Honda chooses to wear only the left half-sleeve of his yukata, adding a unique touch as a departure from his previous attire of a fundoshi. Additionally, he opts for zori sandals, replacing his former barefoot style.

E.Honda’s Backstory

Now moving on to Street Fighter 6 E.Honda Story, Honda dedicated himself to training since his childhood. He dreamed of becoming the best sumo wrestler of all time. He possesses skills that are on par with Yokozuna, the highest rank in sumo.

Furthermore, E.Honda was the one to put an end to Sodom’s attempt to revive the Mad Gear. Sodom’s obsession with Japanese culture made him enter a sumo wrestling competition in order to revive the Mad Gear, a gang of strong warriors. There he faced E.Honda and was utterly defeated by Honda while putting an end to his attempt. However, Sodom earned Honda’s respect.

Street Fighter 6 E.Honda’s playstyle is based on his sumo wrestling techniques. Honda utilizes his strength to deliver impactful strikes and charging maneuvers that keep his opponents under constant pressure.

E.Honda’s signature moves include:

  • Hundred Hand Slap
  • Sumo Headbutt
  • Oichi Throw

However, in Street Fighter 6, he is equipped with a new move known as “Sumo Dash.” There are three different versions of the Sumo Dash:

  • Light Version: Honda runs forwards and does nothing.
  • Medium Version: Runs forward, hits the opponent twice, and knocks the opponent up for a juggle.
  • Heavy Version: This consists of three consecutive hits and a forward palm attack as a finisher.

Unlike many best characters in Street Fighter 6, E.Honda doesn’t include the factor of speed in his attacks. But rather, he seems to be a slow-paced passive character who waits for his opponents to strike first and then counters them with a large number of heavy combos.
