Street Fighter 6 has proven to be one of the best entries to release in the current gen, and its sales have also reflected that throughout its lifetime. Now, Capcom has recently announced in its official blog that the fighting title has rolled over three million copies. The feat for further sales was attributed to additional content, including DLCs and updates and eSports activities that have thrived since release.

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Street Fighter 6, the latest title in the storied Street Fighter series, has sold over 3 million units worldwide (as of January 3, 2024,” reads the announcement.

Capcom’s latest Street Fighter has sold like hotcakes on sale, attracting an onslaught of new players to the franchise. As a result, the franchise itself has grown significantly since Street Fighter 6 came out after three decades of steady expansion. Capcom iterated that the series’ cumulative sales have reached 52 million copies worldwide, along with massive growth in eSports in recent years.

Even today, more than 36 years since Street Fighter first debuted, the series still enjoys immense popularity across the globe with cumulative sales for the series totaling over 52 million units worldwide. Further, in recent years the series has increased its presence as a driving force in the fighting game genre of esports.”

The title has been on a pathway to success since its launch because of its three distinct game modes. It only took a week after its launch to sell over a million copies. The second million took an equally astonishing time of a single month alone in July 2023. Now, it sits at three million sold after half a year. The road to ten million appears to be a long one but certainly is not impossible for the game.
