The publisher has reportedly sold over 47.1 million games globally during the last fiscal year, breaking off its previous record of 32.6 million copies. As a result of the new achievement, it has crossed its set record of the most games sold in a business year. The giant number was only achieved due to the thriving sales of the Resident Evil 4 remake, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, and many other titles in the previous fiscal year.

The financial report shows that Resident Evil 4 moved over 3.7 million units as of March 31. On the other hand, Resident Evil Village reportedly sold 7.9 million copies. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak stands at a substantial 5.5 million number, while the base game currently stands at 12.7 million units sold, as reported in the financial results.

Net sales amounted to 125,930 million yen (increased by 14.4 % year-on-year), and operating income boasted 50,812 million yen (grown by 18.4 % year-on-year). Both the net sales and the operating income skyrocketed to be the highest in Capcom’s history; hence, it surpassed its record and achieved the sixth successive year of record-high profits.

Capcom also gives a healthy forecast for its current fiscal year, hinting at another flourishing year, as it anticipates 56,000 million yen in operating income and 140,000 million yen in net sakes. After selling 47 million entries in the last fiscal year, it is targeting to roll over 45 million copies for its current fiscal year, but its eventual goal is to achieve the staggering goal of 100 million.

Digital content sales, meaning video games, also achieved exorbitant sales in the last fiscal year; the 47.1 million copies sold amounted to 98,158 million yen, and operating income stood at 53,504 million yen, both climbing to a new level year-on-year. The current fiscal year sales forecast is about 106,300 million yen, and operating income is expected at 58,900 million yen.

The new financial report detailing the last fiscal year has greatly boosted Capcom’s prices of shares, leading to a record-high cost. It has caused the price to climb by nearly 20 dollars.
