- The title’s latest update, v1.0.7, makes a wealth of new additions to the title, including permadeath.
- The file size of the patch is the lowest on PlayStation 5—about 2 GB. It’s the highest on the PS4.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest in line for the iconic Assassin’s Creed series of action-adventure titles, and quite seemingly, this one uses a more back-to-basics approach as opposed to its predecessors. If you’ve been enjoying the game on your end, it’s time to enjoy it some more. Mirage has received a new update, titled v.1.0.7, that adds a number of new features, including a fresh permadeath mode.
Do you think you’ve experienced everything Assassin’s Creed Mirage has to offer? Our newest game mode Full Synchronization Challenge (a.k.a. permadeath) is the ultimate test of your assassin skills. When enabled, Basim will desynchronize from the animus if he dies, or if he commits illegal actions (e.g. killing citizens, going outside of authorized map locations),” reads the post announcing the patch notes.
Players will certainly have to perfect their skills to get the better of the Full Synchronization Challenge in Assassin’s Creed Mirage going forward, simply because there are no second chances to look forward to on that front. Other than that, you’ve got a new outfit feature to test out in the game, specifically Transmog. For those not in the know, Transmog means changing outfits for the purpose of altering just the looks, and not stats.
Elsewhere in the patch note post, a swath of fixes pertaining to the Graphics, UI, Animations, and Audio aspects have been rolled out, bettering the overall gameplay experience for Assassin’s Creed Mirage fans. For reference, here are some of the miscellaneous changes that update 1.0.7 has brought for the action-adventure:
- Fixed a bug where the “interact” prompt showed for any historical codex entry in New Game Plus when they were previously collected in their first walkthrough.
- Players can now interact with Al-Jahiz if the New Game Plus walkthrough was started with the “skip prologue” option.
Mirage was released on October 5, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. It’s also headed to iOS later in 2024, which is a first for the franchise. eXputer, in its review, rated the game 3.5/5.0 overall, praising its intriguing cast, creative levels, and greater emphasis on stealth.
