Microsoft has been making an effort to make its gaming subsidiary, Xbox, on par with Sony’s PlayStation. Increasing the user base for Xbox Game Pass to compete with PlayStation Plus is part of those efforts.
They have been adding more popular games in Game Pass to boost their subscriptions. Now it appears that the next big title to be included will be Ubisoft‘s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
As, apparently, the game has been spotted on the Polish version of the Xbox Store with a Game Pass tag. The discovery was made by a Polish site XGP.PL. The game only appeared there briefly, before vanishing after the discoverer refreshed the site a few times.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s appearance on the Xbox store is out of the blue. As there are no prior indications or announcements regarding the game’s inclusion in the Game Pass. This is unlike Xbox which usually rolls out the games’ list before making the games available in the store.
According to the site, there could only be two explanations, “either someone from Microsoft hurried up and the game will actually debut in the Xbox Game Pass at any moment, or it was a simple mistake on the part of the Americans.
The game is also celebrating its second anniversary, so the occasion was quite ripe to release the game for Game Pass. But considering that similar mistakes have been made in the past this may well be nothing.
Microsoft has been increasing its dealings with Ubisoft. Their main focus has been the Assassin’s Creed series. Two games from the series, Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey are already available on Game Pass.
Xbox will be announcing the new games for Game Pass next week. So we will know by then whether this was a mistake or someone became hasty.
