Halo Infinite’s New Upcoming Feature Has Me Genuinely Excited For Its Gameplay

The feature is still a work-in-progress though.

Story Highlights

  • Halo Infinite is the latest iteration in the Halo franchise, released almost three years ago in 2021.
  • The game is about to receive a new gameplay mode in November, the developers announced today.
  • The ability to play in third-person mode should render the Halo Infinite experience even more fun.

Halo Infinite in 2024 is certainly not the game it once was back when 343 Industries launched a new Halo iteration in 2021. It’s an understatement to say that the shooter got off to a bad start because things genuinely got worse for Infinite as the days went by. Fast-forward to 2024, the situation is drastically improving, and 343 is even adding third-person mode to Infinite in November.

Experience a new way to play! 3rd Person Mode is coming to Halo Infinite this November,” confirms the developer.

Player reception is clearly fantastic, as the vast majority of us Halo fans have been awaiting this particular gameplay addition for a while now. While many would say this is the Fornite-ification of Halo, I’d beg to differ, because the game already gets a lot of hate as is, even after making a solid recovery as opposed to its 2021 version.

Halo Infinite Has Made A Solid Comeback, But This Rarely Goes Noticed

I don’t know why — perhaps it’s a multiplayer-focused title and those are hard to save after launch or it’s the Xbox branding — but Halo Infinite does not get acknowledged enough for the comeback it made following its launch. Sure, it suffered a bad release that was riddled to the brim with technical difficulties and core issues, but in 2024, the game in its current state is amazing.

In other news, it’s been confirmed via a job listing that 343 Industries is developing the next Halo in-house. This dispels all previous rumors that the developer is outsourcing all production, but we still have a ways to go until the finished product is out, and fans and followers of the franchise can catch a glance at what 343 is cooking up next.

Here’s hoping that whatever project it is, its after-launch period goes smoothly.

Halo Infinite was released on December 8, 2021, for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. eXputer reviewed the shooter, rating it 4.5/5.0 in its review, while praising its rewarding side objectives, open-ended encounters, and incredible multiplayer modes.
