Story Highlights
- Starfield is an Xbox-exclusive title, although with a release on Steam as well, and simply one of the biggest games to release in 2023, thanks to the hype it’s been gathering since forever.
- As per a new finding, it’s been revealed that Starfield, in remarkable fashion, pays homage to Halo: Reach, which happens to be one of the best games in Xbox’s first-party Halo franchise.
- The titular Reach sports a breathable atmosphere in Starfield and bears other striking resemblances to the iconic Halo game, such as having lush green forests and multiple biomes.
- It’s also the second planet from the sun in the Eridani solar system, similar to the premise formed in Halo: Reach. The likeness here is uncanny.
If you’re a major Halo fanatic, Starfield’s got something for you in its extensive traversal. As common knowledge surrounding the game says, Bethesda’s space RPG has 1,000 planets for players to roam around, and as it happens so, one of them is more or less the same heavenly body as the one in Halo: Reach—an iconic Microsoft exclusive and one of the best games in the Halo franchise.
The information came to light first when a post by u/killingjoke96 on the Starfield subreddit went viral, detailing the stark similarities between the planet on Halo: Reach and Eridani II in the Eridani Systems in Starfield. According to the setting of the Halo game in question, Reach is the second planet from the Sun in the Eridani solar system.
You can actually visit the planet Reach from the Halo series in this game.

Since Starfield’s in-game world comprises genuine accuracies to the actual universe out there surrounding our minuscule planet and boasts striking resemblances compared to the real deal, there’s Eridani Systems in Starfield as well. That’s the same as the one featured in Halo: Reach. Following the lore of the latter, if you make your way to the second planet from the Sun in that solar system, you’ll come across Eridani II.
What gives it away is the atmosphere and environment of Eridani II in Starfield. Both planets, with the other one being Reach, feature nearly the same ambience, climate, and aerospace. Fans and players apparently are all in on it, letting their inner fanatic manifest. One Redditor has even said,
Out of over 1000 planets/moons, this is the first planet I surveyed 100%. It’s also where I built my first outpost. I was a Halo: Reach fanatic since the day the Beta dropped- I played every single hour of that Beta. Yet, this was completely lost on me as I was surveying this planet. That is seriously wild. If that truly was the reference, I think some ostrich-like fauna would have been appropriate.”

Taking the whole situation into account, there are others who are fending off to find planets from other universes as well, humorously. ProAssassin84 says, “I must find the planet from Alien. Acheron, formerly known as LV-426, was one of three moons orbiting the gas giant Calpamos in the Zeta2 Reticuli system, 39 light years away from Earth. The moon was given its common name by the early human colonists who settled there. The main colonist base, Hadley’s Hope, housed 158 people.”
In other news, did you get your fair share of the free loot in Akila City right in front of the Shepherd’s shop? Trust me, it’s a great way to make some serious bank, at least until the devs patch it out, so don’t go on missing it. And in case you’re PC isn’t up to the mark with running Starfield, give Nvidia GeForce Now a shot—a capable cloud gaming service front-runner in the industry at the moment.
