Hellblade 2 Could Release On PlayStation 5, Says Insider

According to Xbox insider Shpeshal Nick, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 might be one of the planned Xbox exclusives jumping ship to PlayStation 5. In a new post on X, the leaker stated that Starfield is just one of the titles Microsoft plans to put on PS5 and that their overall plan is even more expansive and includes the upcoming console exclusive from Ninja Theory.

Microsoft’s new strategy for its Xbox exclusives hasn’t been made official yet, but credible sources have confirmed that games like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are set to lead this revolution. XboxEra added further spice to the story yesterday by saying Starfield was also included in this list while other reports stated that Bethesda could release Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PlayStation 5.

Hence, if the biggest Xbox exclusives are going to launch on other platforms, Hellblade 2 making the jump isn’t too far-fetched. The action-adventure title was first announced back in 2019 with the Xbox Series X|S as a console exclusive. The sequel to 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Hellblade 2 is developed by Ninja Theory and takes place in Iceland with a much wider scope than its predecessor.

Studio director Tameem Antoniades said that the upcoming title is Ninja Theory’s biggest effort to date and makes Senua’s Sacrifice look like an indie game in comparison. As of now, Hellblade 2 is set to launch on May 21, 2024, for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. But, if rumors do out to be true, PlayStation 5 users will get to play the action game.
