Hogwarts Legacy 2 may use Unreal Engine 5 in its development. As spotted by Tech4Gamers, the tidbit was teased in a new job listing by Warner Bros. for the role of Senior Character Artist. One of the expected qualifications and experience requires the hiree to be familiar with game engines such as Unreal Engine 4 and 5. The devs may have gone along with Unreal Engine 4 for Hogwarts Legacy to ensure good performance on last-gen consoles. However, the UE5 is now slowly becoming the industry standard.

We are looking forward to Unreal Engine 5 for future projects knowing that we have a great foundation in place already.”

Why Hogwarts Legacy 2 Makes Sense

Despite initial controversy, Hogwarts Legacy has sold like hotcakes around the globe, reaching 24 million units in the last report. It was crowned 2023’s biggest physical release in the UK and has achieved many other gargantuan milestones.
