Hogwarts Legacy Has Been Officially Delayed To Next Year
The game will release in the first quarter of 2023.
Harry Potter is one of the most significant works of fantasy in the history of media. However, the prominent franchise has hardly touched the gaming industry. For many decennia, Harry Potter fanciers have craved a fantasy-based game set in the Harry Potter universe. Hogwarts Legacy is the franchise’s first promised AAA project, which has whirred around the gaming community.
Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player massively open-world action RPG set in the magical 1800s. It is taken straight out of the original Harry Potter franchise. The development has mostly remained in secrecy; however, some details have leaked out due to the anticipation of the community.
The game allegedly incorporates many locations from the Harry Potter universes like The Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade, and many more. In Hogwarts Legacy, you are just a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that could rip the magical world into fragments.
The title features the entire Harry Potter experience where you must prepare before venturing into the wilderness. The player has to memorize spells, grow crops, take care of animals, and craft potions for support against monstrous beasts that await the wizardly world of Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy was slated for a quarter-four 2022 release a few months ago. However, like many other anticipated titles this year, the game has been delayed to next year. Moreover, the Nintendo Switch release date is yet to be announced. Hogwarts legacy is slated for a February 10th, 2023 release window, which is many months away. The developers will use the extra time of a few weeks to “deliver the best possible game experience.”
Fans will have to wait till half a year before exploring the chronicles of Hogwarts Legacy. The community is conflicted on how to react, has mostly shown annoyance upon reading the announcement. However, the Hogwarts Legacy experience can benefit from the extra time due to being more polished upon launch.
Many other great AAA games have been delayed to next year. This phenomenon has become the standard since the pandemic, which shook the gaming industry and the world. Things are getting back on track, but gamers can expect more delays to take place in 2022.
