Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Pre-Load Date Confirmed For October 13

The pre-load date for the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been confirmed by the PlayStation Store listing, increasing the anticipation of the excited gamers. Players who already have purchased the game on the PSN can now see the “auto-download” date on the site.

As initially spotted by Twisted Voxel, the sequel will be available to download on October 13 at 9 AM ET for everyone who buys the entry without any bonuses since there are no early access rewards of any kind. The pre-load will have the latest update pre-installed for the digital edition, but users who purchase the physical edition will have to download it manually.

Unfortunately, the exact size of the single-player title is still unknown, but we reckon it will be revealed much closer to the release date. The file size is expected to fall within the 100 GB domain because the physical edition of the game will come out on a single disk, as affirmed by the PlayStation Direct store page.

The game’s story kicks off right after the last entry in the franchise, with Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up to face the onslaught of new villains. The duo will have to deal with many powerful foes, including Venom and Kraven the Hunter. Utilize Peter’s new Symbiote suit and explore an even bigger New York with enriched visuals, dynamic web-swinging, and fast-paced combat to leave you lost in its allure.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 footage reveal arguably stood out the most at the latest PlayStation Showcase 2023 event with “rip-roaring gameplay.” The detailed video explored the enhanced combat and revealed tidbits of the story. The trailers amassed over 20 million views soon after the prominent event, suggesting the huge amount of hype surrounding the upcoming Spider-Man sequel.

Hence, fans are enthralled to relish the highly awaited sequel; even the CEO Jim Ryan chimed in the past to show enthusiasm for the game while doubling down on supporting PC ports for the foreseeable future. However, we will have to wait for the release date to play the game, as there are no plans for a demo.

Past reports have suggested that Insomniac Games has toiled hard to turn Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 into its best game ever. For instance, the studio has added three separate skill trees, one for Peter Parker, another for Miles Morales, and the third is a set of skills “offering parallel upgrades to both” characters. The studio has also dispelled all the brewing rumors by fans in the past about a potential delay. 

The pre-load date finally being confirmed by the PlayStation store is nothing short of a treat until we receive more official details before Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 comes out later this year. The potential Game of the Year title will evidently release in Fall 2023, a week after the pre-load goes live, on October 20, for the PlayStation 5 as an exclusive sequel to the original Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
