Latest Modern Warfare 2 Patch Settles Multiple “Map Exploits” And Profile Showcase Bug

The string of MW2 updates continues.

Let’s face it. Although Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has become the franchise’s most successful Steam release, the well-acclaimed shooter is currently riddled with bugs, issues, and various other glitches.

The developers remain hard at work, trying to manifest the game’s actual ambitions, but the current state of the title is fairly troubling to a vast number of players. Taking into account just that, Infinity Ward — the 2022 Modern Warfare 2 reboot’s developer — has taken to Twitter to detail the new update for the first-person shooter.

The developers have formulated a dedicated page on Trello to keep track of all known Modern Warfare 2 issues right alongside the announcement of new updates, patches, and other fixes. Evidently, patch notes are to be uploaded soon on the site as well.

The Rundown:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was only recently released on October 28, 2022 for all major platforms, including Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC
  • Ever since the title’s landing day, the critically-approved first-person shooter has been suffering from its fair share of bugs, glitches, and issues such as the Hueneme Error.
  •  In an attempt to make the first-person shooter as error-free as possible, the developers have released a new update for the game that promises to fix various map exploits and bugs across the game. In addition, the inability to edit the “Profile Showcase” section of your Operator has also been tended to.

Infinity Ward has had the following to say on their official Twitter handle. Thankfully, a portion of the game’s bugs have been reduced by having the Profile Showcase bug fixed right alongside the various map exploits.

It’s commonplace for players to dig up certain loopholes and glitches in the matrix to get the better of the opposing team. In certain scenarios, such endeavors lead to disaster and end up crashing the session of the person involved.

A comment underneath the original post asks, “Can we get some like transparent and detailed patch notes instead of just tweets like this?” Apparently, players are fed up with how there’s a clear lack of detail from the side of the developers on addressing the several Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer issues.

However, Infinity Ward does have a designated page on Tello that comprises the much-needed details regarding known multiplayer bugs and patch notes of the latest fixes.

The board is an all-inclusive section where the developers have arranged and grouped all relevant problems currently plaguing the core Modern Warfare experience. Feel free to keep pace with it as you go along this presently struggling period of the first-person shooter.

Slowly but surely, Modern Warfare is getting there as more and more issues get plucked out of the game with each passing day. In relatively recent times, the game was rumored to feature an expansion for its mainline campaign—a first for the Call of Duty franchise.

Moreover, the collaboration of Modern Warfare 2 with multi-national fast food chain Burger King has paved an opportunity for scalpers to grab ahold of. People have been selling mere DLC skins and 1-hour XP boost of the special occasion on eBay for $50, so that’s food for thought.

Do let us know what you think of the game in the comments section ahead. In the meantime, we’ll keep a keen eye out for the incoming patch notes of Modern Warfare 2.
