Remnant: From The Ashes 2 And Remnant 2 Trademarks Filed

Developer Gunfire Games indicates a prospective future for Remnant franchise

Remnant: From the Ashes is a unique mix of souls-like and action-RPG combined with third-person shooting. Yeah, it sounds weird, but the game delivers. It received positive reviews upon release and has sold more than three million copies worldwide.

The game borrowed many mechanics from Dark Souls while innovating in the developer’s own unique way. The player can wield two guns along with a melee weapon and is required to defeat challenging enemies and bosses found throughout a randomly generated world, though the player still follows a set story.

Upon starting a custom character is created, another feature present in not only Dark Souls, but in many other RPGs as well, and as they progress through the game, they can add weapon mods, upgrade armour using resources found in the world and also increase the stats of the player character.

Gunfire Games is the developer of Remnant: From the Ashes and this was not their first time making an action RPG.

They made mistakes with their previous games Chronos and Darksiders III but they channelled the experienced they gained to make Remnant, which was hugely successful, although it showed that Gunfire Games still had much to learn.

Well, we might get to learn how they have improved soon. Recently, thanks to LongJonSilver, a trademark was spotted for Remnant: From the Ashes 2 and Remnant 2.

Both of these trademarks are probably for the same game as developer Gunfire Games may have not reached a solid decision regarding what to call their next game, the supposed sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes.

As can be seen, the Goods and Services section states it as ‘Downloadable video game software; Downloadable computer game software for personal computers and home video game consoles’, so we can be sure that it indeed is a video game.

The trademarks were both filed fairly recently on September 1, 2022, and as there has been no official announcement or confirmation, we can not be sure what state the game is currently in.

Whether it is in planning stages, pre-production, or amid development, we possibly can not infer, but as the developer has only fired for trademarks, maybe the release is far off.

The owner is listed as Gunfire Games, which is indeed the developer of Remnant: From the Ashes, further cementing the fact that the game is likely the sequel to it. The trademarks can be found here.

Currently, we have no other confirmation or information regarding the title, but we can only hope that Gunfire Games has learned from their past experiences and will deliver a much more solid experience for Remnant: From the Ashes 2 or Remnant 2, whatever they choose to call it.
